Heckfield Place
A lovingly restored Georgian family home at the heart of our working estate, we are a beautiful piece of English countryside that redefines the idea of a hotel. Just an hour from London.
From 18th Century origins to a 21st Century hotel, Heckfield Place has been gently evolving for over 250 years. Lovingly restored, the elegant interiors honour the history of this magnificent house while remaining effortlessly warm and welcoming.
Spanning 438 acres, Heckfield Place and the surrounding countryside offers endless opportunities to explore, experience and get lost.
Heckfield Home Farm
Home Farm is a thriving natural environment for guests to be inspired by and engage with. Originally established as part of the estate in the mid-19th century, it was an exemplar of the self-sustaining relationship between land and house. Home Farm is home to a variety of livestock including a herd of Guernsey cows, various sheep, pigs, and free-range chickens, as well as 500-tree orchard that includes apples, pears, damsons and more.
In 2020, Heckfield opened their own dairy which generates wholesome milk and cream to be used to make butter and yoghurts for the House. It's also used to create cheese with our local cheesemaker, Village Maid.
Nurturing everything from lettuces, soft fruits, brassicas, squash and herbs to stunning scented flowers grown for the House, the biodynamic Market Garden is a central part of Home Farm, and is where much of our produce is lovingly grown. It also includes our nursery where we propagate ancient trees for future generations, and is the only biodynamic tree nursery in the UK.
